Two College Scholarships Available until January 31st — Hurry and Apply


The National Institute for Labor Relations Research ( offer educational assistance for two qualifying individuals each year with two scholarships, the Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship and the William B. Ruggles Journalist Scholarship.

The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship

The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship honors three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than their refusal to pay union dues.

One $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the education student who best exemplifies the dedication to principle and high professional standards of Carol Applegate, Kay Jackson, and Dr. Anne Parks.

William B. Ruggles Journalism Scholarship

The William B. Ruggles Journalism Scholarship honors the esteemed Texas journalist who coined the phrase “Right to Work” and contributed greatly to the movement’s advancement. A $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the student who exemplifies the dedication to principle and high journalistic standards of the late Mr. Ruggles. The Ruggles scholarship is also available to bloggers and social media producers.
