Free Confidential Legal Aid
If you feel as though your rights have been violated by compulsory unionism or if you have a concern about compulsory union arrangements, please reach out to us.
Your question must be related to issues pertaining to forced union membership, compulsory payments, union violence against workers, union dues used for politics, deauthorization elections, and abuses of exclusive hiring halls.
Constraints of Our Services
We do not provide legal aid for other employment-related matters such as non-compete clauses, employment at will, general employment discrimination based upon age, race, or disabilities, or questions about internal union affairs for voluntary members.
Opting Out of a Teachers’ Union Membership
Resigning from unions and successfully revoking your dues deduction authorization with the school district can be a long, frustrating, and fruitless experience if you don’t completely understand the requisites of the procedure.
If you wish to resign or revoke your deduction authorization, please contact the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation before you contact your union and/or payroll or personnel department.
Public School Educators
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation aims to defend America’s workers against the abuses of compulsory unionism. We continuously develop new programs and strategies to effectively protect the rights of public school educators.
Tools for Starting Your Own Non-Union Group
Establishing a professional educator group can be a complicated process that involves a great deal of effort, but the payoff will be substantial: You will grant your fellow teachers the freedom to choose an alternative to union membership.
Many independent groups have been in existence since 1975 and earlier, but there is still a need for professional alternatives in many states across the country. If you are interested in setting up a professional educator group in your state, please contact us.
Starting a Non-Union Educator Group
If your education facility has a monopoly bargaining agreement with a teachers’ union, you will have more hurdles to jump than others will. However, even those working in a union-free school system will have obstacles to face. Don’t let that discourage you.
You are not alone. The National Right To Work Legal Defense Foundation and CEAFU will be there with you. We have a nationwide network of former and current educators and avid supporters who want to help you bring academic freedom to your workplace.
