Illinois Gov. Decries Union Political Spending

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner criticizes teacher unions for spending money to elect politicians who then sit across the table from them and negotiate public sector contracts, calling for the prohibition of the practice.  Many teachers disapprove of this practice also, particularly when their forced dues are going to support politicians whose views they disagree with.  Craig Dellimore has the story in Chicagocbslocal.com.

Gov. Bruce Rauner, a close friend of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has suggested mayoral hopeful Jesus “Chuy” Garcia’s relationship with the Chicago Teachers Union ought to be against the law.

Rauner told reporters the Chicago Teachers Union’s support of Garcia’s bid for mayor in the upcoming runoff election in Chicago is an example of an unhealthy relationship between labor and politicians.
