NEA President – We Have the Power

NEA President Lily Eskelson addressed the 2017 Representative Assembly proudly proclaimed the NEA’s power, but failed to mention the damage that power can do.  While referring specifically to President Trump and Secretary De Vos’ education agenda, that power also extends to forcing teachers to pay tribute and support issues they do not believe in. While President Eskelson assures her audience that “’they” accept the profound trust that is placed in us,’” she does not mention the many teachers who are forced to pay dues in order to keep their job, and what trust they place in NEA teacher union officials.  Check out the story on nea.org.

““This is not a drill,” NEA President Lily Eskelsen García told the 2017 NEA Representative Assembly. “We stand in a dangerous place. We stand between a profiteer and his profits. We have a president who resides at the dangerous intersection of arrogance and ignorance and travels with a moral compass that always points to his own self-interest.”
