Louisiana AFT Accuses Group of Supporting KKK teaching

Louisiana Federation of Teachers believes the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) of advocating the teaching of the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist group.  

The accusation is patently absurd, but teacher union officials have no reason to regard BAEO as anything but an opponent.  You see, BAEO is a fervent advocate for parental choice in schools.  Teacher union officials generally oppose any type of parental choice unless the choice is proposed and controlled by these officials.

Heritage Foundation’s Lachlan Markay has the story: 

The Louisiana Federation of Teachers accused the Louisiana Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) of advancing a “pro-KKK agenda,” in the words of one tweet sent from the union’s official Twitter account. Another claimed that the group “endorses teaching that the KKK is good.”

The teachers union asked BAEO over Twitter whether it supports teaching positive messages about the KKK. Unsatisfied with the group’s response, it unleashed a barrage of tweets claiming that BAEO endorses such teachings. Needless to say, those claims are false.
