What’s The Alabama-Tennessee Connection?
A Political Action Committee (PAC) associated with the Alabama Education Association (AEA) has sent money to a Tennessee Post Office Box. Independent professional educator group leaders John C. Bowman (Professional Educators of Tennessee), and Terry Slone (Alabama Conference of Educators), give input on this mystery. What is not a mystery is that teacher union officials apparently believes they are not accountable for what they do with members’ dues money. Chris Butler has the story on AlabamaWatchdog.org.
A PAC affiliated with the Alabama Education Association, that state’s largest teachers union, last year sent nearly $1.8 million last year to a post office box in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Postal officials won’t identify the owner of the mailbox — No. 1292 — but he or she is affiliated with an organization known as the National Research Services LLC, according to records with the Alabama’s Secretary of State’s Office.
ll, meanwhile, believes this money will go unreported.
