Nebraska Governor Denies Teacher Union

Governor Pete Ricketts is refusing to publicize a proclamation on behalf of the teachers union. Once again, Nebraska has a Right to Work law and teachers may refrain from union membership.  News Channel Nebraska has the story on kwbe.com.

Gov. Pete Ricketts’ spokesman Taylor Gage issued a statement today in response to a Nebraska teachers union claim that the governor’s refusal to issue a proclamation on the union’s behalf is “mean spirited.”

The Nebraska State Education Association had sought a proclamation for the association’s 150th anniversary and the NSEA President Nancy Fulton called Gov. Rickett’s denial “a slap in the face.”
