Burlington Teacher Union President Confused About Meaning of Education

The Burlington, (Vermont) Education Association has been on strike since last Thursday, September 14. While garnering more than her fair share of media attention, teacher union President Fran Brock cannot seem to make up her mind as she tried to explain WHY she chose to lead a strike.  Nicole Higgins DeSmet has the story in the Burlington Free Press Online.

Burlington teachers plan to continue their strike on Monday, union President Fran Brock told the media on Friday afternoon.

“It looks like we will be on strike again Monday. We are committed to this,” Brock said. “We are the experts on how to provide education to the children of Burlington.”

Actions speak louder than words. An expert on education should surely realize that depriving students of education by striking discredits her contention that she is an “expert.”
