Oklahoma Teacher Union Officials Stick to Strike Threat
Ben Felder (NewsOK.com) and John Bacon (USA Today) report some facts about the Oklahoma teacher union official strike, including that the Oklahoma Education Association (OEA) has hired a paid consultant.
More than 40,000 teachers and thousands of support staff across Oklahoma pledged to walk off their jobs Monday despite a $6,100 teacher pay raise rushed through the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Mary Fallin.
Several schools have said they are prepared to be closed for the rest of the week and many teachers are vowing to stay on strike until the Legislature pumps more money into school funding.
