The U.S. Supreme Court may have opened the door to long-needed education reforms.
Without these “fair-share fees,” there will be less of a financial incentive to be a dues-paying union member, which should reduce public-sector union membership and weaken the ability of those unions to influence public policy. (Twenty-seven states already banned unions from collecting agency fees from nonmembers before the decision.)
