Maryland Teacher Union Officials Sue over Apples
The Maryland State Education Association is suing Governor Larry Hogan over the use of an apple logo. Mike Antonucci puts a humorous spin on the story.
The Maryland State Education Association is going to court to prevent Gov. Larry Hogan from using a red apple logo on his campaign literature. MSEA claims the image violates the union’s registered trademark for its “apple ballot,” which lists MSEA-endorsed candidates. MSEA has not endorsed Hogan.
“A representative of the MSEA called our campaign and threatened to sue both our campaign and me personally for, get this, using an apple on our bumper sticker,” Hogan wrote on Facebook. “They said only their union has the right to use an apple.”
