Red for Ed and Protests Heat Up as Legislatures Wind Down

Teacher union officials in Indiana are agitating for strikes as their demands have gone unheard in the legislature, putting forth anecdotal evidence as reasons to strike.  Devin Zimmerman has the story in kokomoperspective.com.

Last week teachers partaking in the Red for Ed movement from around the state took to the Statehouse on Tuesday, calling for better pay, more school funding, and decrying legislation that allowed for teachers to be shot with airsoft guns during shooter training.

Overall, they collectively pointed to these instances as evidence that teachers and public education aren’t respected by lawmakers in Indiana.
