Teacher Unions Make Up an Estimated 25% of all Union Memberships
While most people typically think of coal and construction workers when someone mentions a union, teacher union membership has steadily crept up. It’s difficult to get an exact number, but it is estimated that teacher unions, specifically the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers now make up 25% of all union membership.

But between them, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers claim about 3.6 million working members. That would be more than half of all public-sector union members, and about one-quarter of all union members in the United States.THE 74 MILLION
