Running Scared of Right to Work in Montana

Public sector unions in Montana are heading for merger cover as efforts to pass a Right to Work bill there are under way. The two Montana teacher unions previously merged into one union.  It is likely more unions will take this step if Janus v. AFSCME is decided in favor of the plaintiff, as unions feel their power drain along with the ability to force people to join.  Thomas Plank has the story on Helenair.com.

In a nearly unanimous vote Saturday afternoon, delegates from two of Montana’s public worker unions voted to combine into a single entity.

The Montana Public Employees Association (MPEA) will merge with the MEA-MFT (Montana Educators Association-Montana Federation of Teachers) to become the Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE).
