Public Sector Union Payback New York Style

New York Governor Cuomo is so enthralled by public sector union officials he has made changes in public sector laws that will allow only those union officials to have access to public sector employees’ information. That should not stop public employees, including teachers, from seeking information on their Janus Rights by going to MyJanusRights.org.  The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, of which CEAFU is a Special Project, stands ready to educate public sector employees on their right to choose or refrain from union membership.

Rick Carlin has the story in the Albany Times Union.

In a sign that the tug-o-war stemming from the U.S. Supreme Court’s Janus decision continues, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has put a provision in his budget proposal to codify the protection of personal contact information for public employees.

While information like home addresses, email or phone numbers of public sector workers isn’t generally obtainable from their employers, the governor’s plan would put into law earlier guidance his Department of Labor issued in the wake of last year’s Janus decision. He also issued an executive order right after the Janus ruling protecting employees’ personal contact information.
