Another Hidden Cost of Strikes
Here is another proof teacher union officials are not “all for the kids”. Joseph Geha has the story on mercurynews.com.
For the first time in three weeks, New Haven Unified School District teachers returned to classes in Union City and South Hayward after a 14-day strike finally ended over the weekend when a deal was struck between the district and union that gives teachers a 4 percent raise over two years plus a one-time bonus of 2.5 percent for this school year.
While the drama common with strikes — pickets, rallies, boisterous school board meetings — has subsided, the impact lingers.
