UNITE HERE Local 217 Launches Day-Long Strike at University of New Haven

UNITE HERE Local 217 initiated a strike on Thursday, April 11th, at 5 am, pressuring employees to take part in the event that lasted until 3 pm the same day, when they reached a tentative agreement with the University of New Haven leadership. It’s important to note, that despite the union’s coercion, no employee can ever be forced to participate, regardless of whether or not they are union members. Nor can they be forced to join a union that they don’t agree with.
